What a wonderful way to document this awesome project.

THE COME UP group show at @sadelosangeles curated by @bigpictureslosangeles and myself.

The Come Up exhibition explored moments of sudden ascent—when chance, risk, and intuition converge to alter one’s path. While the phrase often evokes ideas of hustle, heists, or lucky breaks, it also gestures toward unexpected enlightenment. Through painting, sculpture, and drawing, the exhibition traces encounters with treasures, sometimes taken, sometimes found, and the strength and insight gained through such moments.

Featuring: Adrian Contreras, Alex Sewell, Alvaro Ilizarbe, Ashley Wagner, Brandon Elijah Johnson, Brice James, Doug Crocco, Flora Mottini, Jackson Casady, Kady Grant, Kyt, Laura Watters, Luis Flores, Max Rippon, Maxwell Sykes, Meegan Barnes, Mike Chattem, Tom Delaney, and Zoe Alameda

This book captures each step of the process behind the group show: the studio visits with each artist, the artwork drop-offs, setting up the show at the gallery, installation shots, opening night, and all the other events curated around the opening. It’s a good documentation of the behind-the-scenes work and the social scene around the gallery SADE, the artists, and everyone involved in making it happen.
